Create an interactive website showcasing the bravery of the Ukrainian soldiers who died in Donbass and Crimea during the Russian-Ukrainian war

Launched in August 2020, the PLUS 1 project aims to demonstrate to Ukrainian society—and ultimately to the world—how someone becomes a person ready to fight for their values and beliefs.

The project stems from an exhibition dedicated to the memory of the Ukrainian soldiers who died between 2014 - 2018 in Donbass and Crimea during the Russian-Ukrainian war and their families.

SoftServe volunteers developed an interactive website containing photos and stories from the fallen ATO/OOS soldiers and their relatives. Using yellow pins attached to each soldier’s remaining items, users can click and immerse themselves in the story of this man and his family.

Supporting each story’s artistic framing were resources from Ukrainian artists, intellectuals, and journalists, such as Yuriy Andrukhovych, Oleksandr Irvanets, Yaroslav Hrytsak, Larysa Denysenko, Oleksandr Mykhed, along with 17 others, with the photos supplied by Yuri Bilak, a French photographer of Ukrainian origin.
