An app to help people with garbage sorting

Pick Up is a social impact project developed by SoftServe Lviv IT Academy in collaboration with Ukraine Without Waste (UWW) to make responsible waste management simple and accessible.

The team created a web platform that allows users to order a UWW courier or send plastic by post, enabling people to recycle waste without leaving their homes. Collected waste is sorted and transferred for recycling or safe disposal, increasing trust that materials do not end up in landfills.

With over 30,000 landfills in Ukraine, the project supports UWW’s long-term mission to improve recycling processes. Since 2017, UWW has operated the first No Waste Recycling Station in Ukraine and continues to expand its impact through new initiatives in Kyiv and beyond.
